This
page includes a complete archive of newsletters published by
The
Eamon Adventurer's Guild; its predecessor, The National Eamon
Users Club; and its most recent incarnation, The Eamon
Deluxe
Newsletter.
The National Eamon Users Club (NEUC) was founded primarily by John
Nelson, developer of
Eamon version 6 for the Apple II series of computers. The NEUC
intermittently published twelve newsletters from 1984 to 1987.
The Eamon Adventurer's Guild (EAG) was founded in 1988 by Eamon
version 7 developer,
Thomas Zuchowski, to whom Nelson consigned the NEUC records, software
library and remaining membership funds. The EAG published a quarterly
newsletter from 1988 to 2001. The "final" issue of that newsletter was
mailed out to Guild members in January of 2001. Subsequently, three
more partial issues were published at random intervals between October
of 2001 and January of 2004. These partial issues were distributed in
digital format only and were created simply to announce and review new
additions to the EAG adventure library as they appeared. Zuchowski
permanently resigned from the EAG in 2004, designating Guild webmaster,
Matthew Clark, as his successor.
The Eamon Deluxe Newsletter was
introduced by Frank Black in
February of 2005. Intended as both an outlet for articles regarding the
Eamon Deluxe (EDX) gaming system and also a means to continue what the
EAG newsletter had previously brought to the Eamon community, the EDX
newsletter offered to publish any Eamon-related content, regardless of
design platform.
Due to the infinitesimal response
which followed the premier
issue, as well as a cultivating lack of interest among the Eamon
community overall, publication of the EDX newsletter was ended a month
after it began. In early 2012, however, a new editor revived the EDX
newsletter and resumed publication of it once again. While the EDX
newsletter follows no regular publication schedule, it currently
remains active and, as initially intended, provides an outlet for all
Eamon-related content.
